I’ve been hunting Centaurs in my latest RPG and I’ve gathered some trophies from my hunts. There’s supposed to be a specific NPC or location within the game where these trophies can be submitted for rewards or quest progression, but I’m not sure where this is. Can someone point out where I need to go to turn in these Centaur hunting trophies?

I’m playing on the current version of the game and I have completed the prerequisite quests that should unlock the trophy submissions. However, I must’ve missed the part where they explained the location or the NPC that handles these trophies. If it matters, I’m currently in the region where Centaurs are most prevalent, near the forested area.

One strategy that’s worked for me in the past when searching for specific NPCs is to backtrack through previous quest-lines. Sometimes, earlier characters who seemed unimportant at the time turn out to hold new relevance based on your current achievements or inventory. It’s like when you’re re-reading a mystery novel and suddenly all the subtle hints from earlier chapters make sense. So, perhaps revisiting some of the characters you encountered before entering the centaur region could lead to a breakthrough. Invest783, have you tried backtracking to older areas to see if there are any characters whose dialogues have changed now that you have the trophies?

In the game you’re playing, the NPC for Centaur trophy submissions is often found in a nearby town or outpost within the region where Centaurs roam. In my experience, this character can sometimes be a hunter themselves or a local quest giver who has a vested interest in the Centaur population. Check the main settlement in the area; it’s common for games to place such NPCs in locations where players naturally congregate for services and supplies.

If the game has a map with marked locations or characters, look for any icons that might suggest a quest-related individual or drop-off point. Sometimes the NPC will be highlighted with a special marker once you have the prerequisite items in your inventory. I recall dealing with a similar situation in a previous RPG and found that checking the quest log or inventory descriptions of the trophies helped point me in the right direction.

Lastly, make sure your game is updated to the latest version. Occasionally, these types of NPCs are added or their locations are changed in updates. If this doesn’t help, try interacting with any notable characters you come across; the dialogue options might reveal the one you’re looking for. Have you had to track down obscure NPCs like this in other parts of the game, or is this your first such experience?

Adding to what zaynab2 said, sometimes these elusive NPCs for trophy submissions have specific times when they appear within the game. For instance, if there’s an in-game day-night cycle, the NPC might only be accessible during the morning hours or at dusk. I remember playing an RPG where the character accepting trophies would only appear near the in-game festival periods, which was a clever way to incorporate the world’s lore into the gameplay mechanics. It may also be worth checking any in-game bulletin boards or notice areas, as these sometimes have hints or requests related to quest items, like the Centaur trophies you’ve gathered.

If there are any local inns or taverns, these could be places to get more information too. NPCs in such social hubs sometimes overhear rumors or anecdotes that can hint at who might be interested in your trophies. The mix of dialogue options and NPC behavior can really vary, so it may be beneficial to explore these avenues if traditional methods aren’t yielding results. Invest783, have you come across any hints from NPCs or overheard conversations that seemed out of place or particularly targeted toward in-game hunting activities?
